You will also find lots of information and tips in our website on how to give your children the best homeschooling experience.

Here are the Benefits of Homeschooling #11 to #20.

Pros and Cons of Homeschooling
The Pros - 11
Your children won't be terrorized by bullies.

Clip art: sick public schooler - girl wants to throw up Bullying is a big problem in public schools. It can range from threats and insults to assaulting with weapons. The sad truth is that many victims don't inform their teachers for fear of revenge. They take it silently. And if they can't take it anymore, they pretend to be sick to avoid going to school.

Bullying also leaves lasting psychological scars on the victims. They grow up lacking self-confidence. They become withdrawn for they fear others. They would rather keep to themselves than socialize.

One of the benefits of homeschooling is that your child will rarely encounter bullies. In public schools, there is no place to hide from bullies. Smaller and weaker children can't fight back too. Some children are traumatized for years without telling anyone about their plight.

There are some people who believe that children have to be bullied in order to learn how to deal with them. That is sheer nonsense. How is a small child going to deal with a bully who is twice his height and weight. Some bullies are relentless and merciless. The best way to deal with a bully is to avoid him but how is a child going to avoid a bully in her school when she is forced to see him everyday.

Adults don't have to deal with bullies because they don't go where gangs hang out. Of course there are bullies in the workplace, but we can always find another job if the bully happens to be our boss.

Being victimized by bullies shouldn't be part of childhood. Your children deserve to have a joyful childhood. One of the benefits of homeschooling is that your children will be free from bullies.

Pros and Cons of Homeschooling
The Pros - 12
Homeschoolers will always have someone to talk to.

One disadvantage of public schooling is that children are not with people who love them. Although they can have very good friends and teachers, these people can't replace their parents. Therefore, when children encounter any problems they won't have the right people to talk to, and to offer them love and guidance.

Their parents are too busy working and so public schoolers get to see very little of them. Their parents are not around when they need them most. Clip art: son hugs mom

We are sure you have your children's interests at heart. There is nothing you love more than your children. You will do anything for them, perhaps even sacrifice your life if needed. Therefore, you are the best person to talk to when your child has a problem or needs help.

This is one of the benefits of homeschooling. Parents are always around for their kids. So homeschoolers grow up feeling safe and secure knowing that there is always someone whom they can lean on in times of trouble. This is, of course, very important.

Pros and Cons of Homeschooling
The Pros - 13
You can observe your children's behavior and correct them immediately when they misbehave.

One of the important benefits of homeschooling is that as parents are always around with their children, they can quickly correct their children's behavior whenever they misbehave.

Children can be angelic but no child is perfect. We are sure you have seen one or more of the following bad behavior in your children - temper tantrums, selfishness, laziness, disobedience, whining, teasing ... the list goes on. Parents of public schoolers rarely see their kids misbehave and many of them don't even know what their kids have been up to during the day.

One of the great benefits of homeschooling is that you will be around to catch your child misbehaving and use it as an opportunity to teach her socially appropriate behaviors. You can teach your child how to be polite when she is rude, how to share when she is selfish, how to empathize with others when she is being mean, how to be tidy up her room when she is lazy, how to speak properly when she is whining etc.

It is no wonder that homeschoolers generally are a better behaved lot than their public schooling counterparts.

Pros and Cons of Homeschooling
The Pros - 14
You can create a strong bond with your children.

Public schoolers rarely see their parents and so fill their emotional void by bonding with their friends. It could be good or bad depending on what kind of friends they are mixing with.

One of the wonderful benefits of homeschooling is that you don't have to be separated from your kids. Before the advent of public schools, children had been spending their childhood in close proximity with their parents. Public schools are not natural. It is not natural for a child to be separated from her parents at a tender age.

Children need to be with their parents. The parent-child bond needs to be strengthened throughout childhood. Parents play an important role in their children's lives. Parents have to be their children's friends, guidance counselors, role models and playmates.

The bond a child creates with her parents will be the basis for other ties she will create in her life - with her friends, colleagues, neighbors and spouse.

Pros and Cons of Homeschooling
The Pros - 15
Homeschooling siblings will be closer.

One negative aspect of public schooling is that siblings are separated from an early age. They don't spend as much time with their brothers and sisters as they should. After all, who are more important - friends or siblings? Friends will come and go but our siblings will be with us throughout our lives.

The strength of the bonds children form with their siblings will determine how close they will be in their adulthood. Even when their parents have passed away, if the siblings are close they will always have someone they can rely on and talk to. This is one of the benefits of homeschooling that is very important for your children's future.

Pros and Cons of Homeschooling
The Pros - 16
Homeschoolers receive individual attention.

The benefits of homeschooling are many but this is the one advantage of homeschooling that is the main contributor to your children's academic success.

One-to-one teaching is the best form of teaching for you can go according to your child's speed and answer all the questions your child might have. If your child is weak in any area, you can slow down, take more time to explain the topic and give her more questions and exercises until she catches up.

You can speed up in those subjects which your child excels in and cover more ground. In fact, homeschoolers rarely lag behind their public schooling counterparts. Even if they are initially weak in certain subjects, they catch up fast because of the individual attention they get from their parents.

Homeschoolers are usually racing ahead. Generally, homeschoolers are ready to enter college when their public schooling counterparts are just entering grade 9 or 10.

Many people are under the misconception that homeschooling parents push their children beyond the breaking point. That is the only way they can explain the phenomenal academic results homeschoolers get.

The reality is that any average child who is homeschooled without being pushed or given undue stress has the capacity to excel - individual attention is that powerful. You can take advantage of one of the best benefits of homeschooling to make your child an academic star.

Pros and Cons of Homeschooling
The Pros - 17
You can nurture your children's natural gifts.

All children are special. However, it is difficult for teachers in public schools to discover each and every child's talent in their classes. A lot of children lose out in life because their potential remains untapped. Their parents also are too busy with work to help their children in their quest to discover themselves.

One of the benefits of homeschooling is that you will be with your children most of the time and so you can engage in many activities with them. You will also have more time to bring them for music classes, dance classes, and enroll them for sports instruction.

By observing them, you will easily find out their interests and talents. You can also discuss with them their interests. You can provide encouragement and support.

If you are really keen to make them truly gifted, you can also learn along with them and teach them when you are at home. That is what I am doing. I have twins who are almost 7 years old - a boy and a girl. My son is passionate about music but my daughter is not. I used to play the piano but I am not qualified to teach and I have forgotten a lot of things.

I enrolled my children for piano classes a month before their 5th birthday. I sit with them for all their classes. I watch very carefully how their piano teacher plays and listen to all her advice and instructions to my children.

I ask her a lot of questions when I am unsure about anything. Then I go back and teach my children exactly what we learned in class. Now my son can play beautifully at Grade 3 level and he is not even 7 years old.

We did not leave out our daughter though. She goes for piano classes but she is not as passionate about it as her brother. My wife and I cracked our heads and tried other activities with her until we found that she is crazy about drawing. Now they are both going for art classes too - and they are enjoying it.

In addition, we go swimming 5 times a week. My kids love swimming and are good swimmers. They can swim 500 meters non-stop. They love homeschooling life.

This is one of the major benefits of homeschooling. There are so many activities you can do with your children and in the process find out what they love and help them develop their talents.

Pros and Cons of Homeschooling
The Pros - 18
Homeschooling saves time.

Homeschoolers save time because of the individual attention they get from their parents when they are learning. Homeschoolers absorb faster. A topic that takes 4 hours to be taught in a public school can be taught in 2 hours to a homeschooler because of the magic of individual attention. Clip art: busywork - student working overnight

Homeschoolers also don't have to waste time everyday preparing to go to school and traveling to and from school. They don't have to do meaningless projects and assignments.

Therefore, one of the benefits of homeschooling is that they have more free time. If you are homeschooling your children, you have two options on how you want your child to spend their extra free time. You could teach them more so that they overtake their counterparts in public schools or you could let them spend their free time in other activities.

This is one secret why homeschoolers can be active in a variety of sports and activities and still be able to excel in their studies.

Pros and Cons of Homeschooling
The Pros - 19
Homeschoolers do better at college than their public schooled counterparts.

Most homeschooling parents are serious about their children's studies. They spend a lot of time and effort teaching their children. They also teach their children how to discipline themselves and work hard. Therefore, homeschoolers do much better than other students in college.

When they are in college, homeschoolers have already acquired the skills necessary to succeed. They know how to study, how to motivate themselves and how to do research independently.

If you are hoping to send your children to the best universities in the world and see them succeed, homeschooling can make it happen.

Pros and Cons of Homeschooling
The Pros - 20
Homeschoolers spend most of their time with those who love them.

Children are innocent and vulnerable. A child is so fragile that anyone can destroy her physically or emotionally.

There are too many cases of children in America whose childhood have been destroyed by traumatic experiences when they were away for their parents.

One of the benefits of homeschooling is that homeschoolers are most of the time with those who love them. Homeschoolers feel good about themselves. They are happy, vivacious, well-adjusted children because their parents show them how much they love and care for them. Clip art: hug your child - mom picking up baby from pram

Children thrive on love. A psychological study conducted on orphan babies found that emotionally neglected babies that were just left to lie in their cribs without anyone holding and hugging them had a higher mortality rate than those babies that were held and hugged often.

Children are not plants. All plants need are plenty of water, fertilizer and sunshine. Children, however are not the same. You can give them the best food and clothes in the world, lodge them in the most luxurious mansions and provide them with unlimited access to money. Will they be happy?

A poor child whose parents love her unconditionally is much happier than a rich child who knows no love.

This is one of the strongest benefits of homeschooling that we know of. Homeschooling provides you with lots of opportunity to shower your children with love.
