Free Online Interactive Math 6th Grade Math: Lesson 3: Problem 1
Three brothers needed to cross the ocean to Hawaii to visit their sick aunt. Being adventurous, they went to a pet shop to buy three marine animals that they could use to ride across the ocean. They paid a total of $882 for a seal, a dolphin and a walrus. The dolphin cost twice as much as the seal, and the walrus cost twice as much as the dolphin because it could also repel hungry sharks. What was the cost of the walrus? (Don't forget to include the $ sign in your answer.)
